While holding a press conference in Islamabad along with Secretary General Ameerul Azim, Naib Emir Mian Muhammad Aslam, Emir JI Islamabad Engineer Nasrullah Randhawa, Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Sajjad Ahmed Abbasi and other leaders, Liaquat Baloch said that the budget of 2024-25 is the most failed one and added that the government is deceiving the public.
He said that electricity theft has become a trap for the people and the national economy, adding the government has presented three mini budgets. He said the interests of the IMF are being protected, adding the government has surrendered to the IMF. He said instead of strengthening democracy, the rulers are leading it towards destruction, adding various taxes in electricity and gas bills have affected the poor people.
Liaqat Baloch said the government has removed the subsidy of 300 billion rupees on health facilities and increased the federal excise duty. He said the people are selling their home ornaments to pay the electricity and gas bills, adding now it is practically difficult to run the country. He said it has become harmful to the security of the country, adding the people should not be punished for the agreements against the national interests. He said there is a wave of anger among the people, adding these agreements are not appropriate in any way, 40% of the people have gone below the poverty line. In view of the fact that Jamaat-e-Islami will hold a sit-in for the rights of the people in Islamabad on July 26, this sit-in will be completely peaceful.
Liaqat Baloch said that the game of political engineering cannot continue for much longer and this game must end now, adding running the country is not just a matter of capitalist landlords, the fundamental rights of the people of Pakistan must be recognized. He said that the division of judiciary is becoming terrible which is leading to a big disaster, adding it is unfortunate that the decisions of the judiciary are not implemented, running the judiciary through ad hoc judges is not a right step, this move has also become controversial.
He further stated that banning PTI and announcing the Azm-e-Istehkam operation were incorrect decisions that would only create further chaos in the country.
Liaqat Baloch expressed support for the demands of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan and urged the government to meet these demands. He also pledged support for any voices raised regarding Palestine and Kashmir.
Liaqat Baloch stressed the need for a government formed on the basis of Form 45 and called for national political leadership to engage in a dialogue. “After 76 years, it is time for the national political leadership to fulfill their responsibilities and agree on a minimum agenda. The political leadership must decide not to become puppets in the hands of the establishment for the sake of power,” he concluded.
