Islamabad & Riyadh have long-standing brotherly ties which are getting stronger with the passage of time: Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar
ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (SABAH): A delegation of Al-Jomaih Group of Saudi Arabia called on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in Islamabad on Thursday and apprised him about new investment projects of renewable energy to produce 1500 megawatts of electricity.
The four-member delegation was led by Head of Al-Jomaih Group Sheikh Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Jumaih.
Al-Jomaih Group has made massive investment in the Karachi-Electric. Local and renewable energy resources will be utilized to produce electricity under the new projects.
Welcoming the Saudi investment, the Prime Minister said Islamabad and Riyadh have long-standing brotherly ties which are getting stronger with the passage of time.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed the belief that Karachi Electric will further improve its infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted power supply to domestic and industrial consumers.
He said the K-Electric investment strategy in alternative energy sector will help reduce power tariff for consumers.
