Islamabad Bar Association welcomes initiation of proceedings by SC on letter written by six judges of IHC
ISLAMABAD, April 2 (SABAH): Islamabad Bar Association has welcomed initiation of proceedings by Supreme Court of Pakistan under Article 184 (3) on letter written by six judges of Islamabad High Court (IHC).
According to declaration issued by Secretary Islamabad Bar Association Hassan Javed Shorish Advocate, meeting of cabinet of Islamabad Bar Association was held under the chairmanship of President Islamabad Bar Association Raja Shakeel Abbasi. The meeting took stock of situation erupted after six judges of Islamabad High Court wrote letter. Islamabad Bar Association welcomed initiation of proceedings by Supreme Court of Pakistan under Article 184 (3) on letter written by six respectable judges of Islamabad High Court.
Ahead of this, Islamabad Bar Association and Bar Councils and Bar Associations of the whole country have expressed solidarity with the respectable judges and judiciary. Now it again demands of transparent investigation of the letter written by the six judges of Islamabad High Court.
Islamabad Bar Association hopes that proceedings on the letter by the Supreme Court would ensure independence of judiciary and situation would be better.
Islamabad Bar Association reiterates its resolve it stands with constitutional rules of independence of judiciary and appeals to respectable lawyers to participate in suo moto proceedings to be held in Supreme Court of Pakistan.
