Ishaq Dar underlines Pak’s commitment to uphold the highest standards of maritime safety & environmental sustainability

ISLAMABAD, Sep 12 (SABAH): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar was the Chief Guest at the International Maritime Business and Finance Conference held in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Conference was attended by Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Arsenio Antonio Dominguez Velasco, who is currently on a visit to Pakistan.

Speaking at the Conference, the Deputy Prime Minister underlined the importance of fostering peaceful relations and shared prosperity; and addressing common challenges.

Ishaq Dar underlined Pakistan’s commitment to uphold the highest standards of maritime safety and environmental sustainability.

Ishaq Dar also underlined Pakistan’s priorities for a vibrant blue economy as a key pillar for economic development and for sustainable utilization of marine resources.

The Deputy PM also underlined the government’s efforts for expanding trade in fisheries, boosting coastal tourism and exploring offshore gas and petroleum resources.
