Iranian Ambassador Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini bids farewell to Speaker NA Raja Pervez Ashraf
ISLAMABAD, April 13 (SABAH): Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini called on Speaker of the National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday at the Parliament House. During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, promoting regional peace and security, and enhancing trade and economic ties between Pakistan and Iran.
NA Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf congratulated Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini on his successful diplomatic assignment in Pakistan and appreciated his contributions in further strengthening the brotherly ties between the two countries. He expressed gratitude to the Supreme Leader and President Raisi for their continued support to the Kashmir cause and assured Iran of Pakistan’s support on its core issues, including the JCPOA and human rights issues.
The speaker felicitated the Iranian Ambassador on the revival of Iran and Saudi Arab diplomatic relations. Underscoring Pakistan’s close fraternal relations with Iran and Saudi Arabia, he termed it as a positive step that would lead to improving regional peace and stability as well as increasing cooperation among Muslim countries to overcome the current challenges faced by Muslim Ummah.
The two sides reiterated their commitment to fighting terrorism, which poses a common threat to both Iran and Pakistan, through joint concerted efforts. They also acknowledged the positive trajectory in bilateral relations, including enhanced engagement at multiple levels and frequent exchange of visits and telephone calls between the leadership on all matters of significance.
Both sides also agreed to hold an Iranian art/photo exhibition at the Parliament displaying rare manuscripts of Holy Quran and other sacred documents. The event would be in continuation of golden jubilee celebratory activities of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan passed in 1973.
The Speaker concluded by thanking Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini for his productive and fruitful tenure in Pakistan and wished him all the best for his next diplomatic assignment.’
Meanwhile Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that constitution reflects the sagaciousness and political wisdom of then political leadership. He paid rich tribute to Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto for building consensus among diverse political parties to bless Pakistani constitution with federal, parliamentary and consensus based constitution
He expressed these views while launching NADRA ‘Constitution App’ and unveiling commemorative coin of fifty Rupee in connection with Golden Jubilee celebration of Constitution in Pakistan.
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that it is Parliament which is the only palteforum to build consensus among divergent political parties. He said, “building consensus is key to resolve present Socio-economic challenges.’ He said that maintaining sanctity of parliament and constitution is collective responsibility.
He also appreciated the performance of NADRA for launching this App. He said, “NADRA has gained international repute which is pride for Pakistan.” Speaker National Assembly also appreciated the performance of officers and officials of National Assembly Secretariat for professionally organizing events in connection with Golden Jubilee celebration of Constitution.He also directed NADRA to prepare National Assembly APP to facilitate members of National Assembly.
Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik expressed gratitude to Speaker National Assembly for providing this opportunity to serve national cause of preparing NADRA Constitution APP. He said that NADRA would continue to strive for the best to serve the nation. He said, “this App would spread awareness in common people regarding their fundamental constitutional rights as lack of awareness allows the transgressors to violate these rights”.
It is pertinent to mention that NADRA has launched the official mobile app that contains the Constitution of Pakistan. The mobile app will help citizens stay informed about their rights and duties as outlined in the supreme law of the land. The users can access the Constitution anytime from anywhere using any internet-connected device.
The key features of the app includes viewing the structure & Chapters of the Constitution, Searching the Constitution using keywords. App is also readable in Urdu. It is available on both Apple and Google Play stores.
