Int’l community needs to tackle the issues, which pose serious threats to global peace & harmony: Bilawal Bhutto
KARACHI/ISLAMABAD, Sep 20 (SABAH): Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that international community needs to tackle the issues, which pose serious threats to global peace and harmony.
“Violence, cross-border terrorism, Islamophobia, illegal occupation of territories, global economic & climatic injustices and human inequality are the key dangers to a sustainable peace on earth,” Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated in his message on the International Peace Day being observed today (Thursday) worldwide under the aegis of the United Nations.
PPP Chairman stressed that world has also to take actions against injustices, atrocities, discriminations among humans and exploitation of the poor, downtrodden and voiceless people to achieve the greater goal of peace on the planet.
He further said that global community needs to promote and encourage democracies in the developing countries to augment equality and fairness among the societies faced with discontents, confrontations and conflicts of different natures. Protecting human rights of all people is also individual as well as collective responsibility of all nations, he added.
The United Nations is celebrating the International Peace Day with the theme – Actions for Peace: Our Ambition for the #GlobalGoals. According to UN, it is a call to action that recognizes our individual and collective responsibility to foster peace.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistani people, its leadership and the armed forces have suffered huge sacrifices during their role as a frontline fighters against the international terrorism as we lost Muslim world’s first elected Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto among more than 80,000 civilians and military personnel in the war against terrorism.
He said that people of Kashmir and Palestine are looking towards the world leaders for their much-awaited freedoms as they are being subjected to worst kind of atrocities even in the modern world. Growing incidents of Islamophobia, target-killings in foreign lands like the gruesome murder of Hardeep Singh in Canada at the hands of Indian terrorists and cross-border terror attacks in Pakistan and elsewhere are also form severe threats to the international peace.
Bilawal Bhutto vowed that Pakistan Peoples Party will continue its struggle for peace in the country as well as in the whole world. Our motto is to serve the masses for removal of poverty and injustice, and promoting equality and harmony among the people through a democratic system under the unanimous Constitution of Pakistan.
