Intensity of political differences has become extremely dangerous for national security: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE/ISLAMABAD, Jan 28 (SABAH): Allama Arif Wahidi, Allama Sheikh Mirza, Allama Ashfaq Wahidi called on Liaqat Baloch (Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami and Secretary-General Milli Yakjehti Council).
Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan was also present on the occasion. Liaqat Baloch, in a meeting with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, assured of full cooperation by all the member-parties of Milli Yakjehti Council with the spirit of fulfilling national obligation for the improvement of the situation in Kurram district and for the protection of life, property and honor of the people. Federal, provincial governments and security agencies must come on the same page to eliminate terrorism, sectarianism and corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The intensity of political differences has become extremely dangerous for national security. Everyone must agree on the basic principles of the constitution, law and independent judiciary in order to restore the public confidence and get the anti-people forces to retreat.
Liaqat Baloch stressed the need for coordinated efforts among the federal and provincial governments setting aside their differences and prioritizing basic human rights of the masses. Implementing the Kurram Agreement and joint decisions of all stakeholders without discrimination and delay is the need of the hour. The Sunni and Shia communities must be assured of their safety by implementing the agreement. The national political democratic leadership should realize the intensity of the situation in Balochistan and immediately convene a national conference in Quetta in collaboration with the federal government and the Balochistan government in order to restore peace in Balochistan.
Liaqat Baloch said that the voice of Balochistan must be listened to and responded positively; the lives, property, honor and belongings of the people of Balochistan must be protected and their lives be made dignified. Time and circumstances demand that the national leadership should agree on national priorities and steps must be taken in the right direction to strengthen relations with Afghanistan. The growing influence of America, India and Israel in Afghanistan is tormenting for Pakistan and the region. Pakistan should step forward to play a key and leading role in new alignments in the region and globally.
Liaqat Baloch, while addressing a political consultative meeting in Islamabad, said that the entire nation is fully prepared for Kashmir Solidarity Day on 5th February. Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman will be hosting National Kashmir Conference on 3rd February in Islamabad. Jama’at-e Islami will never stop raising its voice on public issues. A nationwide protest against IPP mafias is also due to be staged on January 31. The federal government must bring down electricity, gas, oil prices to its real values in order to boost the economy, increase employment opportunities and get free from the clutches of the IMF. All stakeholders must unite for the improvement of political, economic, state and administrative uplifts.
Liaqat Baloch said that with a devastated economy, cruel decisions like increasing the privileges of assembly members, purchasing vehicles worth billions of rupees for the FBR (Federal Board of Revenue) officers will make the assemblies and bureaucracy completely extraneous in the eyes of the masses. Assembly members, bureaucrats must realize and honor the feelings of the people and should not challenge them, or they would face severe reaction from the masses.
