Incidents of May 09 weakened the politics while it further strengthened the establishment: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, May 22 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami and former parliamentary leader, Liaqat Baloch on Monday said that incidents of May 09 weakened the politics while it further strengthened the establishment.

While addressing during in an augural ceremony of “Bano Qabil” of youth at Lahore; meeting with teachers’ delegation of International Islamic University at Mansoorah; and Political Electoral Consultative meeting, Liaqat Baloch said that Pakistani politics has been facing a number of issues in wake of uninterrupted mistakes and faulty political steps since last 75 years. He added that economy crisis has further exacerbated in the country. 

He said that poisonous polarization divided the nation due to which uncertainty was ruling the roost. He was of the view that the lust for power and selfishness weakened the democratic process in the country that is visible in the form that the country is derailing from the democratic as well as from the constitutional path.   

Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami deplored the incidents of May 09 weakened the politics while it empowered the establishment of the country further and held the coalition government of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) responsible for its lust for sticking to power while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) disorganized as well as extremist way of playing politics. He added that political division and polarization were being encouraged instead of resolving the political issues of the country.

Liaqat Baloch while taking to teachers from Sudan, Yemen, Egypt and Malaysia, said that restoration of Saudi Arabia, Iran and Syria foreign relations as well as ceasefire in Yemen was a puff of fresh air for the Islamic World. He added new grouping at the world level is in the making as America and Europe’s grip on the world politics is weakening while China is gaining grounds due to its economy factor. On this junction, unity of Islamic World could play a positive role.

He further said that Muslims development in the fields of education, research, science, technology, economy and defense is a guarantee of cooperation and added that Islami movements across the world were working for the enforcement of welfare system as well as protection of human fundamental rights in the light of teachings of Quran and Sunnah.

Liaqat Baloch further said that G20 meeting at Srinagar, Indian held occupied Kashmir has virtually failed as China besides other countries refused to participate in it and added that international community is well cognizant of Indian fascism and illegal occupation in the held valley.
