Inauguration of Alkhidmat Thalassemia Center under Alkhidmat Foundation, Peshawar


PESHAWAR, Nov 22 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation has inaugurated Alkhidmat Thalassemia Center for the treatment and prevention of thalassemia in Nishtarabad area of ​​Peshawar, with the aim of providing the best facilities to patients and promoting awareness about this disease.

Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan President Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, famous international cricketer Fakhar Zaman, Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Khalid Waqas, Peshawar District President Arbab Abdul Hasib, Alkhidmat Hospital Director Dr Iqtadar Ahmed, Dr Naveed Shareef and other notables participated in the inauguration ceremony and inaugurated Thalassemia Centre.

On this occasion, Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that Alkhidmat Foundation is on a mission of humanitarian service and the establishment of Alkhidmat Thalassemia Center is an important step towards improving the lives of Thalassemia patients.

He said that there are currently around one lakh thalassemia patients across Pakistan while five to six thousand children are born with thalassemia every year. He further said that modern facilities have been provided in Alkhidmat Thalassemia Center so that comprehensive services can be provided in terms of diagnosis, treatment and awareness of patients.

Fakhar Zaman praised the efforts of Alkhidmat and said that welfare organizations like Alkhidmat are a ray of hope for the nation, and added the projects like Alkhidmat Thalassemia Center play an important role in saving lives and improving the lives of Thalassemia sufferers. Gifts were also distributed among the children.
