In power, democracy & parliamentary system no individual, party & leader is indispensable: Liaqat Baloch

ISLAMABAD, Mar 21 (SABAH): Deputy Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and former parliamentary leader Liaqat Baloch has said that in power, democracy and parliamentary system no individual, party and leader is indispensable, this system is bound by constitution and democratic values and rules.

In a statement issued on Monday, Liaqat Baloch said that many rulers came in the history of politics and rule, they also considered themselves indispensable but they left power with honor or humiliation and became a part of history. Military dictators also took extensions because they thought they were inevitable. The late Bhutto also claimed that he was inevitable and the Himalayas would cry when he left. Mian Nawaz Sharif also became popular, sacked again and again, but the people did not come out for him. Prime Minister Imran Khan should also know this undeniable fact of history and take the path of constitutional, political, democratic decency. It is the responsibility of the opposition to meet the required members for a no-confidence motion and it is a constitutional obligation for you to prove a majority.

Liaqat Baloch said that the government has lost the majority, that is why instead of taking the democratic constitutional path, riots and chaos are taking place. Being in power has never been a permanent thing. Only morality, decency and constitutional democracy are sustainable and dignified. The government and the speaker should have fulfilled their constitutional duty before the OIC conference and the March 23 Pakistan Day parade. The constitution has been violated by creating a bad situation. God willing, the unconstitutional act should not become the basis for actions beyond the Constitution.

Welcoming the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Conference, Liaqat Baloch said that the conference should take unequivocal steps for the liberation and right to self-determination of the oppressed Muslims of the occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir, recognition of the Taliban government of Afghanistan and give a strong and positive message to the unity of the Ummah for the protection of Islamic sanctities, the elimination of sectarianism and the eradication of Islamophobia. Implementing the UN resolutions, the OIC should play a clear dynamic role for the right of self-determination for Kashmiris. Solution to the Kashmir issue is the path to peace, development and prosperity in the Islamic world and throughout the region.
