Imran Sarkar is devising every tactic to steal the next elections: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, Dec 01 (SABAH): Deputy Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, former parliamentary leader in national assembly Liaqat Baloch has said that Imran Sarkar is devising every tactic to steal the next elections. For a unified national policy on electoral reforms, all democratic forces, government, people, state must come together on one page. Government actions are unconstitutional, undemocratic. The government is targeting the Election Commission of Pakistan. The PML-N and PPP are insulting the slogan ‘Respect the Vote’ with fanfare in the NA-133 by-election.
Liaqat Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami will launch a nationwide campaign for a united national electoral reforms and fair elections.
Liaqat Baloch said that the burden of price hike, unemployment, inflation, and utility bills has increased to such an extent that the people will not get stable from small relief packages. Debt from friendly countries and the government’s surrender to the IMF’s strictest terms to handle the economic situation will further destroy the economy. The economic crisis is dire. The credibility of the PTI government has been tarnished. If the national leadership does not find a solution to end the crisis, the country will go bankrupt, the pressure to roll back the nuclear program and paralyze military capability will increase. The Establishment has to play a national and non-partisan role instead of bias.
Liaqat Baloch said that the indifference of federal, provincial and government agencies to the demands of sit-in participants in Gwadar (Balochistan) for several days is shameful. Women, men, youth and fishermen are all protesting. The demands of the people should be met under the leadership of Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman. The people of Gwadar have the first right to the fruits of the CPEC project.
Liaqat Baloch in a meeting with public delegations in Lahore said that theft, robbery, street crimes and drug trafficking are rampant in Lahore. The government is the patron of every mafia. The Punjab government has not taken timely steps to curb air pollution and smog in Lahore. The situation of gas load shedding in Lahore is dire. Instead of empowering the local government system and making it a system of public convenience, the government is a victim of internal conspiracies. In Sindh, the PPP government is playing with the local government system in a cruel, anti-people manner.
