Imran Khan’s whole drama has flopped: Rana Sanaullah
ISLAMABAD, Nov 09 (SABAH): Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said the whole drama of former prime minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has flopped. He said the accused Muhammad Naveed who was arrested for firing on Imran Khan has no connection with any political or religious party or religious cult.
Rana Sanaullah said this during in an interview with a private TV channel. He said the person who was involved in firing incident on Imran Khan stayed at Saudi Arabia for over six or seven years and returned back to Pakistan in February. He said that there are two motives behind bringing long march to Islamabad; one was making the appointment of army chief controversial and second was thwarting the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman from Pakistan as if he is not stopped the investment of $ 16 to $ 17 billion will come in the country which will make it stable which is not in the interest of Imran Khan.
The minister said that chairman PTI was hell bent upon the destruction of the country terming it his agenda, adding that Imran Khan’s long march may affect Saudi crown prince’s visit. “I’m sure that Waqar and Khurram were involved in murder of senior journalist Arshad Sharif. They knew about the proposed firing at the place. Without any doubt and suspicion, firing on Arshad Sharif was carried out by Kenya police. There was no picket. These two brothers were well acquainted with police. Commission will reach upon this result. Why did police target Arshad Sharif. Did it take money for firing on him? Who gave police that money? What had Arshad Sharif enmity with the police?” he questioned.
Rana Sanaullah said despite the support of government and administration in the two provinces, only a few thousand people joined the long march and not more than 100 or 150 persons came out for protests in the big cities whereas in the small cities only 30 to 40 persons came out for staging protests as they rejected politics based on insurgency and violence. He said that now there has been left nothing as when the Parliament will give approval of governor rule and Prime Minister will send an advice to the President in this regard.
He said the matter of imposing governor rule is not a matter of hours or days but it is matter of weeks and this is his opinion as a political worker. He should be allowed to get exposed more for two weeks and after this the file and the documents will be completed for imposing the governor rule. It is not the Interior Ministry but the government which has to decide in this regard, he added.
The minister said there is provision of the governor rule in the Constitution. He said that cabinet and collation government can decide in this regard and there is no role of President of Pakistan in connection with this as only he has to follow advice of the Prime Minister in this regard as he is totally toothless.
He said the redline regarding governor rule has started to appear and it has become routine for over three days that 15 people come by van and block road by setting five tires on fire. After this they make selfie by showing all the blocked traffic and announce that all this people sea has come out to protest in favour of Imran Khan, he said and added the police protect them from the general public through the barriers so that no one could reach them. Imran Khan was accompanied by only 7,000 to 8,000 people when he reached Shahdara from Lahore and questioned where one lakh or 5o thousand people joined him, the minister said, adding afterwards this number reached from 8,000 to 12,000 people and then reached 3,000 to 4,000 persons. Imran Khan was accompanied by only 1,500 people where firing incident took place, he added.
Rana Sanaullah said that Arshad Sharif was killed in vehicle in Kenya and no other person was hit by the bullet. “This was target firing. He who was involved in firing was well aware of the fact that Arshad Sharif or the second person was driving the car. Targeted firing only hit Arshad. Khurram and Waqar were involved in this murder. These are billionaires in Kenya as they have many resources there. These two persons have much influence in the government. Rigorous efforts needed to investigate this case. The question is how Arshad Sharif reached there. I have no suspicions that the accused were totally clear who are Waqar and Khurram. But saying so would be more suitable and arguable after the proofs come to the fore. If Arshad Sharif did not know these people then how he reached with them though these are not his final words however threat alert issued regarding Arshad Sharif is invitational in nature,” he added.
Rana Sanaullah said that fact finding will have legal status when inquiry commission would have framed a report. Then a lawsuit will be registered and they will be brought to the country on the basis of this. “We cannot make fact finding a base of any case until and unless the inquiry commission does not endorse it. We will collect the required information in the coming two to three weeks,” he concluded.
