Imran Khan wants to hold the elections in presence of his handlers as he has not won any election without handlers: Ahsan Iqbal
NAROWAL, April 30 (SABAH): Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry has said that Imran Khan wants to hold the elections in the presence of his handlers as he has not won any election without handlers. He said that Imran Khan is selling his party tickets, adding that after surfacing the audio of former chief justice Mian Saqib Nisar’s son Najam Saqib, there is no doubt that Imran Khan sells his party tickets and also sells his politics. He said that the reality of Imran Khan has come in front of the nation and whenever elections will be held we will give him befitting defeat and his dirty game will be buried forever. He said that Pakistan’s Supreme Court is not Supreme Court of any specific party but it is the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
This was stated by Ahsan Iqbal while talking to media person in Narowal on Sunday. Ahsan Iqbal said that former chief justice Mian Saqib Nisar is making decisions regarding PTI tickets as party workers, adding that Saqib Nisar visited Europe, Canada and Britain along with PTI leaders for collection of donations on the dam fund and millions of rupees were collected but till today no record of this money has been presented before the nation. He said that the audio of current chief justice’s mother-in-law has also surfaced in front of the nation, adding that these are all the characters who were involved in removing Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif from the post of PM through judicial martial law or judicial conspiracy. He said that the same characters today again want to push the country towards constitutional or political crisis, adding that currently there is no constitutional or democratic crisis in Pakistan.
He said that there is only crisis of one person’s foolishness, stubbornness and ego in Pakistan, adding that Imran Niazi did not dissolve his two provincial governments while following any democratic vigor. He said that Imran Khan dissolved the governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to topple the democratic system of the country while becoming the suicide bomber. He said that Imran Khan has confessed that he dissolved the two governments on the advice of General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa. He said that sometimes Imran Khan holds General Bajwa responsible for hatching conspiracy to topple his government and sometimes on the directions of General Bajwa dissolves his two governments.
Ahsan Iqbal said that currently the country facing the crisis has no link with any constitutional crisis, adding that it is the consistent point of view of the government that the elections should be held in the country after completion of the five years constitutional term of the government. He said that even today is the point of the view of the government that the Sindh, Balochistan and National Assembly could not be given punishment due to the foolishness of one person. He said that according to the will of the constitution the elections of all four provincial assemblies and National Assembly should be held same day.
Ahsan Iqbal said that prior to 1997, the election National Assembly was used to held three days prior to the elections of provincial assemblies but after objection the elections of elections of national and provincial assemblies are held same day till today after 1997. He said that there are 55 percent national assembly seats in Punjab and if provincial assembly elections are held in Punjab prior to the National Assembly elections it could influence the results of the National Assembly elections and where will go other three provinces of the country. He said that it is the basic constitutional point of the government that the elections of national and provincial assemblies should be held at once after the completion of the tenure of all assemblies. He said that there is no plan of fleeing from the election and there is no plan of refusing to hold the elections, adding that according to the will of the constitution and to keep intact the federation of Pakistan it is necessary to hold the elections same day.
Ahsan Iqbal said that according to the verdict of the Mustafa Impex Case of the Supreme Court, the discretionary powers of the chief justice of Pakistan are unconstitutional. He said that the law formed by parliament recently is according to the constitution and it is the fundamental principle that chief justice of Pakistan has to use his powers along with fellow judges institutionally. He said that it is right of every Pakistani citizen to have right of appeal in suo motu cases, adding that this right was given to deposed chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry by 11-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan headed by justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday.
Ahsan Iqbal said that currently the stance of parliament is of supremacy of Pakistani constitution and parliament, adding that carrying out legislation is the right of the parliament and whatever legislation has been done by the parliament has been done in the light of the Supreme Court decision and sprit of the constitution. He said that if some judges of the Supreme Court are suspending this legislation then they are expressing worst kind of conflict of interest. Ahsan Iqbal said that he is hopeful that the eight-member bench of the Supreme Court will read the Mustafa Impex Case verdict and will seek apology from the nation for issuing stay order on the implementation of the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Bill 2023.
