Imran Khan stops ministers from showing any reaction to remarks of Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed
ISLAMABAD, Dec 17 (SABAH): Prime Minister Imran Khan has barred ministers from showing any reaction to remarks of Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed. The premier stated that media intentionally highlighted Justice (retd) Wajidhuddin Ahmed’s remarks and ignored corruption of the opposition.
PM Imran Khan also directed ministers to avoid wasting time on such lame statements as he had not expenses worth millions. He emphasized that media should hold discussions about opposition leader who ransacked national exchequer.
A meeting of party representatives, presided over by the premier, was held in which money laundering case of Shehbaz Sharif was thoroughly analyzed. Advisor to PM on Interior and Accountability Shahzad Akbar briefed the participants about legal aspects of the case. While showing resolve to take the case to a logical end, the premier noted that public money was used in money laundering and that they couldn’t withdraw from undertaking accountability.
The meeting also highlighted current power situation where shortage of gas and government’s strategies to cope with them were analyzed. Federal Minister for Power Barrister Muhammad Hammad Azher briefed the participants thereof.
Prime Minister Imran Khan was also briefed about high inflation; Advisor to PM on Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tareen stated that owing to recent moves of the government, a downward trajectory in inflation had been observed. The premier emphasized that reduction in inflation and public relief were priorities of the government.
The meeting also discussed allegations leveled by former leader of PTI Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed.
