Imran Khan says he will announce the next phase of his movement in his Dir public gathering tomorrow
SHANGLA, June 02 (SABAH): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Thursday vowed to keep holding rallies and continue his anti-government campaign till general elections are announced. Imran Khan said that he will announce the next phase of his movement in his Dir public gathering tomorrow (Saturday). Addressing a public gathering in Shangla, the former prime minister said that he is staying in the province for two more days to prepare everyone for the “Azadi March” anew. “I am strengthening all my organisations in the province and planning everything,” he said.
Criticising the government’s decision to increase the prices of petroleum products by Rs30 per litre, Imran Khan said that the government cannot buy oil from Russia at 30% lesser prices because the United States “does not permit” them to do so. “Our government wanted to strike a deal with Russia, but it was overthrown with the help of a regime change scheme,” the ousted premier said.
He said that the “puppets” of the US were now running the country after he was ousted through a “foreign conspiracy” and the “government is imposing Israel and India’s agenda” on the nation.
According to Imran Khan, India implemented an independent foreign policy, free of outward influence, and bought oil from Russia at a subsidised rate.
Talking about the Pakistani-American delegation that recently visited Israel, the ex-PM said that it included a “government servant.” He said that his party does not recognise Israel and will not until justice is served to the Palestinians.
He furthered that since the arrival of the new coalition government, all commodities had become more expensive. “A nation that cannot break the idol of fear becomes a slave. I am campaigning for the real liberation of this nation,” he maintained.
The former premier alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to destroy the mandate of the people in the next elections. “They are conspiring with the support of the election commission to rig the next elections and trying to ruin democracy in the country,” he said.
Imran Khan deplored that the current PML-N government was focused on ruining state institutions including the police.
Imran Khan while giving establishment example of Soviet Union’s collapse due of its weak economy, asked them to intervene as the people are aware that the real power lies with them.
Imran Khan said that the establishment could stay neutral if it wants but people know you have the power, and the way the thieves are bringing the country down, people are watching towards you [establishment], adding that the history will not pardon this role that the country goes down and you say we are neutral and these thieves who have been installed with American conspiracy bankrupts the country.
