Imran Khan says he is in contact with President Alvi on matters pertaining to summary for appointment of Army Chief


LAHORE, Nov 23 (SABAH): Former prime minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said that President Dr. Arif Alvi will discuss matters relating to summary for appointment of Army Chief.

Speaking to a private channel on Wednesday, Imran Khan said that he is in contact with President Dr. Arif Alvi on matters pertaining to summary for appointment of Army Chief.

Imran Khan said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held consultation with a fugitive on Army Chief’s appointment and he is the chairman of a party and the President will surely talk to him over the summary.

The former PM said, “If someone thinks that he will bring his army chief to unleash violence, then the nation will stand against him, adding that Shehbaz Sharif was fully involved in the Wazirabad attack and Nawaz Sharif would also know but it is now up to Tasnim Haider how the police would present evidence in the court.”

Meanwhile Imran Khan said that businessmen were playing an important role in construction and development of the country.

Talking to a delegation of senior leaders of All Pakistan Bedsheets and Upholstery Manufacturers Association (APBUMA), which called on him here on Wednesday, Imran Khan said that the businessmen were the great asset of the country.

The delegation inquired after wellbeing of the PTI Chairman and expressed good wishes for his full and speedy recovery. He said that they played major role in the improvement of the economy of the economy.

The delegation was met with PTI Chairman under the leadership of PTI Central Information Secretary Farrukh Habib. The delegation included former central chairman Arif Ehsan Malik, former vice chairman Amar Saeed and member executive body Shahzad Ahmed. The delegation also included PHMA officials.

In the meeting of APBUMA delegation with PTI Chairman, they discussed issues of mutual interest in detail. They informed Imran Khan that during the PTI government, the textile sector was running on subsided electricity and gas rates.

They said that exporters were getting their refunds as exports were satisfactory. However, APBUMA delegation stated that ever since the imported government seized the power, the inexperienced policy makers have ruined the domestic industries. “Refunds are stalled and industrialists are worried, as how long they will bear the losses,” they lamented. On the occasion, PTI Chairman thanked the delegation for their visit to inquire about his health.
