Imran Khan has lost majority in the National Assembly: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, March 25 (SABAH): Deputy Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, former parliamentary leader Liaqat Baloch while talking to political leaders and journalists at the wedding ceremony of the sister of senior minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas said that Imran Khan has practically lost his majority in the National Assembly. Rebellion within the party has taken place and distances by the allies have been created.

He said that it is now being demonstrated to cling to the seat with the power of state, government and abusive language. The lust for power has taken the path of fascist, undemocratic political tension and extremism instead of confronting the no-confidence motion on a democratic basis. In either case, the system will no longer work. Much remains to be done before November 2022.

He said that it is a tragedy that the national role of the armed forces is being made controversial and subject to factionalism like national politics. National security requires that the role of Pakistan’s armed forces be to restore the confidence of the nation as a whole.

Liaqat Baloch said that political history is once again in a tragic situation. Political affairs and power politics disputes are again in the grip of the judiciary and the establishment. It is the incompetence and failure of the political national leadership that has not learned a lesson from history and has again plunged itself into a black hole.

He said the political leadership has given the worst results to the frustration of the people, threats to national security and failure to resolve political issues on mature ideological and democratic grounds. Military dictatorships, the ruling parties of the past and the PTI government that has continued to do the same have also failed and become incompetent.

Liaqat Baloch said that to get the country and the nation out of the crisis, the patriotic, competent, honest and sensible people will have to come together in the spirit of reconstruction. Let the people give up the habit of repeatedly stinging themselves out of the same hole. In the last 75 years, Jamaat-e-Islami has proved that its leadership and workers have the abilities of trust, honesty, principled politics, lavish sacrifices for country and nation, guarding of constitutional, democratic, moral, cultural values and passion that can save us from crises.

Liaqat Baloch said that the government of the unholy alliance (Bhan Mati’s family) has failed and the mismatched mixture will not be able to work in the future. The national leadership must acknowledge that the mandate of the 2018 elections has been fruitless, the plight of the people has increased, economic catastrophe is creating anarchy, every move on the foreign front has become useless due to internal turmoil. Corruption on the domestic front, growing terrorism is devastating. The constitutional, democratic path is early elections.

He said that for transparent, impartial, credible elections, the Election Commission of Pakistan should be fully empowered and immediate elections should be declared. Along with the federation, the governments of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have also failed and their performances are disappointing. If there is chaos in the center then provinces cannot become islands of peace and good governance.
