Imran Khan condemns arrest of retired Lt Gen (retd) Amjad Shoaib

LAHORE, Feb 27 (SABAH): Former prime minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan on Monday condemned the arrest of Lieutenant General (retd) Amjad Shoaib.

Taking to Twitter, Imran Khan condemned the detention of the former general and added his arrest demonstrated that democracy and freedom were being dismantled in the country. He said that Shoaib’s arrest aimed to save the fascist government and not let the regime change operation reach the public.

“Condemnable arrest of Lt Gen retd Amjad Shoaib shows democracy & freedom being totally destroyed in Pak to save regime change conspiracy’s fascist order of cabal of crooks propped by handlers. It is time for every Pakistani to stand up for Haqeeqi Azadi & save Pak from the abyss” Imran Khan tweeted.

Meanwhile in a separate tweet on Monday, Imran Khan said that on 27 February 2019 our government ordered response to Indian air strike on Balakot with PAF air strikes on Indian military targets in IIOJK and the PAF downed an IAF plane over Pak air space capturing the pilot. “We were successful in choosing a limited military response signalling a clear message to India” he said.
