Imran Khan appears before JIT in a case related to threatening police officials & a woman judge Zeba Chaudhry
ISLAMABAD, Sep 14 (SABAH): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Wednesday appeared before joint investigation team (JIT) in a case related to threatening police officials and a woman judge Zeba Chaudhry. The case was registered against Imran Khan in Margallah Police Station of Pakistan.
According to details, the JIT quizzed Imran Khan for about 20 minutes and later handed him questionnaire consisting of 21 questions.
The former prime minister arrived at the SPP office for a hearing as per the directives of an anti-terrorism court (ATC) that extended his pre-arrest bail for the second time on Monday. Former federal ministers Fawad Chaudhry and Shibli Faraz were also accompanying Iman Khan.
Talking to media persons after his appearance, Imran Khan said that terrorism case against him is a joke and his appearance before the team is also not less than a joke. Imran Khan said that he is doing politics in the country from last 26 years, adding that all his actions were as per law and constitution of the country. Imran Khan said that in whole world the headlines were published in the newspapers that terrorism case has been registered against Imran Khan. He said that the whole world knows the definition of terrorism, adding that if you tell some government official that I will initiate legal action against you over custodial torture, Shehbaz Gill was kidnapped and tortured for two days and was sexually tortured, adding that on this we had only announced to take legal action. He said that if you will include terrorism clauses in this matter then the country will become fun, adding that the world is laughing at us because the world knows the definition of the terrorism.
Imran Khan said that he has replied the questions of the JIT. The PTI chief claimed donors of the party are being harassed by FIA and warned that masses will soon be on streets. The more you push us against the wall, the more we are preparing, he added.
Imran Khan claimed to collect Rs 10 billion for the flood affectees through five-hour long telethon. Imran Khan said that it was his challenge to the government that the day he will give call the imported government and thieves imposed on us through foreign conspiracy could face it. Imran Khan said that the only solution to come out of the mess facing by country is holding free, fair and transparent elections in the country immediately. Replying a question regarding the contempt of court, Imran Khan said that this matter is subjudice and he will appear in the court.
It merits mention that Islamabad High Court (IHC) had ordered Imran Khan to become part of the investigation in the contempt of court case against him for threatening a female judge. The court has ordered the police to complete investigation and submit their report.
