If the timeframe is not followed, Jamaat-e-Islami will call for civil disobedience movement: Ameerul Azim
LAHORE, Aug 11 (SABAH): Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameerul Azim has said that a 45-day agreement has been reached with the government. He said if the timeframe is not followed, Jamaat-e-Islami will call for civil disobedience movement and a nationwide strike. The people worried about inflation will participate in today’s gathering, he said and added Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman will address.
Ameerul Azim expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Charing Cross, Lahore. On this occasion, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Ziauddin Ansari, Khalid Ahmad Butt, Aam Nisar Khan, Ahmed Salman Baloch, Jabran bin Salman Butt and others were also present.
Ameerul Azim said that Jamaat-e-Islami has fought the case of 250 million people of Pakistan, adding getting rid of expensive electricity, oppressive taxes and IPPs is the only guarantee for the prosperity of the common man in the country. He said history has been made by staging a sit-in in Rawalpindi, adding the rally in Lahore will also be a harbinger of prosperity for the 25 crore people of Pakistan.
He further said that Jamaat-e-Islami has forced the government to kneel down and campaigned heavily on public demands. He said Jamaat-e-Islami has given an ultimatum of 45 days to the government, adding if the government shows laziness, it will create problems for itself.
He further said that Jamaat-e-Islami does not want to become the fuel of anti-national forces, as a result of violence and evil-doers, the common man suffers, so we believe in peaceful and democratic political struggle.
