If Pakistan shows weakness on the issue of Kashmir, Kashmiris will leave Pakistan: Ghulam Muhammad Safi
LAHORE, July 14 (SABAH): The Convener of All-Party Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan Ghulam Muhammad Safi has said that if Pakistan shows weakness on the issue of Kashmir, Kashmiris will leave Pakistan. He said they will not allow bargaining, unless the dispute of Jammu and Kashmir is resolved according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the United Nations resolutions, Pakistan will suffer from economic instability.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club. On this occasion, other leaders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Pervez Shah, Zahid Shafi, Sheikh Yaqub, Zahid Ashraf and Muhammad Shafi Dar were also present.
He said that Kashmiris do not object to India-Pakistan talks, but they will not accept the future of Kashmir unless Kashmiris are included in the talks regarding the issue. He said Pakistan needs to take steps beyond the political, diplomatic and moral support of the Kashmir struggle. He said on July 19, they would take out Occupied Kashmir rally from Masjid Shuhada to Governor House.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi said that Kashmiris do not object to India-Pakistan talks, but unless Kashmiris are included in the talks it will not be of any use and will not even recognize it. He said that on August 5, 2019, Pakistan could have done that it did not do.
He said that the Hurriyat Conference has been saying since the first day that if at any time, Pakistan shows weakness on the issue of Kashmir, the result of which is that Pakistan and India come to the same level and cannot do anything while staying in Pakistan, then they will not allow any bargaining regarding the Kashmir issue.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi said that they have no objection on Pakistan that it negotiates on potatoes and onions, but will not accept anything unless Kashmir is included in the negotiations on the Kashmir issue. He said that Pakistan’s economic stability is conditional on the independence of Kashmir, adding Pakistan should satisfy the world that India is occupying Kashmir.
He appealed to the leaders of all the political parties of Pakistan to participate with their workers in the Occupied Kashmir Rally from Masjid Shuhada to the Governor House on July 19 to show solidarity with the Kashmiris.
