Hunger strike by jailed-Yasin Malik enters fourth day


NEW DELHI, July 25 (SABAH): Imprisoned Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Muhammad Yasin Malik’s hunger strike entered fourth day on Monday, in New Delhi’s Tihar jail.

Muhammad Yasin Malik declared hunger strike till death to push for legal demands like fair trial and physical presence during the court hearings. He began the strike on Friday, July 22, reports a TV channel.

Malik’s family members and leaders of his party Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front have expressed concern about the health of ailing JKLF chief. They said the hunger strike poses a great risk to his life as his health has already deteriorated to a great extent due to suffering from various ailments besides solitary confinement in Tihar Jail for the past three and a half years.
