Historic day of Sep 6 reminds us that unity of nation is a must for success: Dr Fowzia

LAHORE, Sep 6 (SABAH): Aafia Movement Pakistan leader and noted neuro physician of the country Dr Fowzia Siddiqui has said that the historic day of September 6 remind us that unity of the nation is a must for success.

Dr Fowzia Siddiqui said that on the day of September 6, the whole nation, its brave army, navy and air force showed extreme gallantry and foiled the evil designs of enemy.

She prayed that today may Allah, the Almighty bless us with guidance so that we can regain our past glory and steer the country clear of all crises. She said to achieve the cause of the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui is the step would further increase the honor and dignity of the guardians of the nation. She was talking while meeting with the people belonging to different walks of life in Lahore.

Flanked by Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan she called on Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, chairman of Quran and Sunnah Movement at his residence. She also met with Islami Jamait Tulba leaders Asaf Ali Qureshi, Usama Amir, Waseem Haider, besides Pasban Democratic Party Lahore chapter leader Abdullah Mansoor, Team Aafia Pakistan President Hamza Siddiqui and others.

She said the month of September is an important month in the life of Dr Aafia Siddiqui. On September 23, 2010 she was sentenced to imprisonment of 86 years in a sham case after one-sided trial. On September 30, 2010, she was jailed in a cell of the notorious FMC Carswell jail.

Dr Fowzia Siddiqui appealed to the Pakistani people to observe the day of September 23 as a ‘day of murder of justice’ and September 30 as a ‘black day’ to demand ending human rights violations of Dr Aafia in the US jail and releasing her immediately.
