Highly malicious intentions to rename Kashmir: Farooq Rehmani
ISLAMABAD, Jan 03 (SABAH): Muhammad Farooq Rehmani , Chairman J&K People’s Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K, has issued a strong worded statement, condemning Indian Home Minister Ameet Sha’s malicious and unhistorical interpretations and intentions and suggestions to rename the Kashmir with Maharishi Kashyeep. He said that the Indian leaders and rulers of Hindutva mentality should please their gods and demons in their Indian temples and shrines, but never try to demolish the age-old non-communal and secular culture and traditions of Kashmir to meet their nefarious political ends and designs.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani stated that the Hindutva rulers of India believing in Hindu mythology aimed at thrusting the same over the Muslim majority State of Jammu and Kashmir by creating a pernicious controversy over Kashmir’s historical and natural name of thousands of years, which stood as a symbol of unity and solidarity during ancient Hindu and Muslim periods and was never ever contested by any Hindu or Muslim ruler. He expressed his concern over how the India’s Hindu rulers, worshipers of gods, demons or cows or snakes were creating fuss among the people of Kashmir on the basis of wrong references and interpretations of history and basic design was root out Islam from Kashmir.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani appealed to all the political parties and Muslim and non Muslim- community leaders to remain united and frustrate Indian leaders designs against the Kashmiri history and culture of religious unity and solidarity. He also appealed to the UN Secretary General to prevail upon India, against their ulterior motives of rechristening Kashmir and erasing “Kashmir” from the world map.
