High Court in Occupied Kashmir quashes illegally detention of Kashmiri youth


SRINAGAR, Sep 5 (SABAH): The High Court in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has quashed the illegally detention of Kashmiri youth, booked under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA).

Justice Sanjay Dhar, after hearing the arguments of Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak, directed the authorities to release the detainee from jail.

Senior advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak, representing the youth, told the media that the detention of Saqib Akbar Waza of Kulbagh Gulshanpora Tral village in Pulwama district was quashed by the court nearly two years after his arrest.

The youth was imprisoned without being informed of the charges against him and he is currently incarcerated at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.
