Heavy bombing by Israel in southern areas of Lebanon, 182 people martyred, more than 700 injured

BEIRUT, Sep 23 (SABAH): Israel has opened a new war front in Lebanon after Gaza, and on Monday Israel targeted the southern civilian population to target Hezbollah’s weapons depots, martyring at least 182 people and more than 700 injured, including women and children. According to international media, after a year-long offensive in Gaza, Israel has turned its attention to Hezbollah.

After the worst border clashes and exchange of fire between Hezbollah and Israel in recent times, Israel ordered the people of Lebanon to evacuate the area, saying that Hezbollah had stored its weapons there.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant signaled the continuation of the offensive in a video statement, saying the operations will continue until we achieve our goal of returning northerners safely to their homes. He said that the Israeli people will have to show patience during these days.

Israel claimed to target Hezbollah’s bases and weapons reserves in Bekaa, the southeastern region of Lebanon, and in the northern regions near Syria, but most of the casualties in these attacks were civilians. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, on Monday, Israeli enemies targeted southern areas and villages in an attack that martyred at least 182 people, including women, children and members of medical staff, while more than 700 others were injured.

In a statement on the social media website X, Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said that more than 300 targets of Hezbollah have been hit and we had already issued a warning to carry out air strikes on these houses in Lebanon where Hezbollah has hidden weapons. In response to this operation, Hezbollah said that it fired rockets at Israeli military posts, while more attacks on each other are expected from both sides.

According to eyewitnesses, Israeli warplanes carried out several air strikes on Lebanon’s southern border and towns in the north on Monday morning, targeting the outskirts of several towns and villages in the south and the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon.

The spokesman of the Israeli army said in his statement that the scenes that are being seen in southern Lebanon are the explosions of Hezbollah’s weapons, which are exploding inside the houses, the house we are attacking contains weapons which include rockets, missiles aimed at killing Israeli civilians.
