Hafiz Naeemur Rehman welcomes the Gaza peace deal & announces to celebrate a day of determination & thanksgiving tomorrow

KARACHI, Jan 16 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has welcomed the Gaza peace deal and announced to celebrate a day of determination and thanksgiving tomorrow (Friday).

The JI supremo announced this at an emergent press conference, held at Idara Noor-e-Haq — the JI Karachi Headquarters, on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the recent development showed an achievement for Hamas and Palestine as Israel signed the peace deal with the same organization, it had claimed to eliminate.

Over 47 thousand Muslims in Gaza, majority women and children, were martyred, over 92 percent houses were targeted, and almost all the hospitals were destroyed by Israel during this genocide, he said.

The JI leader further said that Israeli forces didn’t spare even media workers, doctors, paramedics and United Nations volunteers during the coldblooded genocide. He added that phosphorous bombs were dropped on tents and makeshift camps.

The agreement will take effect by Sunday and till now Israel was killing innocent people, including women and children, he said while highlighting that Israel has established new lows in humanity.

On the occasion, he strongly lambasted the United States for sponsoring the genocide and held the US hands in gloves with Israel. He also condemned the Muslim block of the world for their cowardice and not taking any solid position for the innocent and oppressed people of Gaza while they were being subjected to genocide.

He paid a rich tribute on behalf of the people of conscience across the world to the victims of Gaza. People of Pakistan continuously showed their support for Palestine against Israel, he said.

He further said that following the development, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Pakistan would be asked to acknowledge Israel. We want to warn the government of Pakistan that showing any soft corner for Israel would not be accepted and the ruling regimes will have to face grave consequences if any such move is taken, he said.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman appealed to religious scholars and prayer leaders to highlight the importance of Qibla e Awal, the stance of Quaid-e-Azam on Palestine and our obligation as a nation in connection with the cause of Palestine.

The JI leader said that the boycott campaign against Israeli products and pro-Israeli companies would continue, whereas the Mera Brand Pakistan expo will be inaugurated in Karachi on Saturday, January 18.

Responding to a question, he said that the people on both sides of the border with Afghanistan can’t afford alteration between the two countries. He added that it was the tribal belt about which Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had said that we don’t need to deploy regular army at this front and the country didn’t deploy till a coward dictator provided passage the US army to it.

He reiterated his offer to play role for meditation between Kabul and Islamabad. The JI leader also made it clear that it was the responsibility of Kabul to ensure that Afghan soil is not used against Pakistan.   

Talking about the local issues, he said that educational apartheid in Karachi was totally unacceptable. He demanded the government to constitute a commission to look into the board exams crises.

He also shed light on the issue of electricity crises in Karachi and said the two nuclear plants in the mega city can cater all the electricity needs of the city on a very reasonable price.

The relief occurred after ending agreements with independent power plants should also be channeled to the people, he demanded of the government.

In response to another question, he held the form 47 government responsible for lawlessness in Karachi and particularly the kidnappings of children.
