Hafiz Naeemur Rehman strongly rejects recent hike in gas tariff approved by OGRA, demands immediate withdrawal

KARACHI, June 04 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has strongly rejected the recent hike in gas tariff approved by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and demanded of the government to reverse the massive increase immediately.

The JI leader expressed grave concerns over the decision in a statement here on Sunday at Idara Noor-e-Haq, the JI Karachi Headquarters.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the unjust decision would not only increase the financial burden on the already marooned lower and middle classes but will further open floodgates for inflation in the country. He said that the bomb shell of 45 percent hike in the tariff was quite illogical and is tantamount to ruining lives of citizens.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that at one hand, masses are facing immense load shedding of both gas and electricity in the ongoing extreme weather conditions, while on the other, such type of illogical and cruel decisions by the authorities are adding further problems to the life of masses. He asked the government to show some sanity and reverse the decision immediately.
