Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expresses deep grief & sorrow over brutal Israeli bombing on Rafah

LAHORE, May 28 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has expressed deep grief over the barbaric Israeli bombardment on the border city of Rafah in Gaza and said that millions of refugees are living in temporary camps in Rafah city in which the majority are children and women. He said that these attacks were carried out on the refugee camps at a time when the International Court of Justice had specifically barred Israel from bombing Rafah.

In a statement issued from Mansoorah on Tuesday, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman also announced the holding of the Gaza Million March in Karachi on June 2 to express solidarity with the Palestinian people. He said that Israel is retaliating for the failure of its strategic goals by brutally bombing innocent children. In the border city of Rafah, there has been a massacre for two days and bombs containing 2000 tons of explosives are being dropped, he added.

Furthermore, he said that children are being burned alive and Muslim countries are watching this situation as spectators. He said that due to the situation in Gaza, a clear division has been created between the Muslim rulers and the Muslim people. He said that Muslim rulers have bowed down before America, but they will have to account for criminal negligence. Israel has committed the worst war crimes and the governments of America and Muslim countries are equally involved in these crimes, he added.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed regret over government of Pakistan for not taking clear measures to protect the people of Gaza and raised the question that at a time when the people and governments of the West are also raising their voices against Israeli atrocities, the silence of Pakistani government is questionable. 

He said in the past, Pakistan has been playing a leading role in helping the oppressed Muslims and the Muslim Ummah has expectations from Pakistan. Muslim countries should come to the field to defend the Palestinians, he said and added the defense of Palestinians is the responsibility of Muslim governments and forces.
