Hafiz Naeemur Rehman denounces the governance in Sindh as the worst, holding the PPP responsible for it
HYDERABAD, August 21 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has denounced the governance in Sindh as the worst, holding the PPP responsible for it.
Speaking at a leadership convention on Wednesday, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman criticized the PPP, calling it not a political party but a coalition of feudal lords that has devastated the province under the guise of a “system.” He further stated that this so-called “system” has now infiltrated Islamabad, referring to the presidency. He said the PPP occupied the Karachi mayoral seat without winning the elections. The PPP in collaboration with the MQM manipulated the results of national and provincial assembly seats and divided between the two on rural and urban basis relying on Form 47. What would be the legal and political status of a party which was formed on the basis of a “will”, he questioned.
The PPP was not a political party rather it was a qabza group, he said, regretting now this group had also formed the so-called government in Balochistan too. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said the people of Pakistan are under the clutched of feudal lords, waderas and corrupt imperialists who have been ruling the country for decades in form of the PML-N, PPP, bureaucracy and military dictators, he added. “We could no longer allow this mafia to keep control the resources of the country.”
Therefore, he added, the JI is launching a countrywide mass-contact movement and membership campaign from September 01. He advised workers spread the message of the JI, particularly focusing the youth, and mobilise public for their rights. This campaign, he added, is part of the JI’s national movement “Haq do Pakistan ko.”
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman also highlighted the JI’s call for a nationwide strike on August 28, demanding that the ruling elite relinquish their extravagant lifestyles funded by state resources and provide relief to the public from burdensome electricity tariffs and taxes. This strike is intended to pressure the government to honor the agreement it made with JI after the 14-day sit-in in Rawalpindi, he said.
