Govt will write a letter to the US govt to demand the release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui: Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD, Sep 20 (SABAH): A delegation of Aafia Movement led by Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui met with Deputy Prime Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Friday.

Ishaq Dar in presence of Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan assured Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui that the government will write a letter to the US government to demand the release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.

On this assurance, the Aafia Movement announced to postpone the D-Chowk sit-in scheduled on September 22. It would announce its further course of action soon.

Meanwhile, Aafia Movement said that the call for the protest on September 23 against 86-year imprisonment of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui has already been given. It urged all political and social entities to actively participate in it and raise a strong voice which could be heard all over the world.
