Govt taking all possible measures to protect people from negative effects of import inflation: PM Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD, Mar 12 (SABAH): Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed all the elected representatives of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to strengthen their engagement with the people to make them aware of the various government initiatives for socio-economic development.
He was talking to Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi and different members of National Assembly from Peshawar, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Chakwal and on women reserved seats, with whom he held separate meetings in Islamabad on Saturday.
The Prime Minister said successful economic policies of the government have stabilized country’s economy and now we are at path of sustainable growth.
The Prime Minister also directed them to aware the people of the fact that the government is fully aware of their plight. He said the government is taking all possible measures to protect people from the negative effects of import inflation due to the historic rise in prices of essential commodities in international markets.
PM Imran Khan said that the pro-people measures include reduction of 10 rupees per liter price of petrol and diesel and reduction of 5 rupees per unit price of electricity.
In addition, 100 percent tax rebates for IT companies and freelancers, 100 percent foreign exchange holdings and investment in IT startups to promote information technology in the country and create vast employment opportunities for youth.
Moreover, under the Kamyab Pakistan program, in the next two years 407 billion rupees will be distributed for businesses.
Under the Ehsas program, the monthly stipend has been increased from 12,000 rupees to 14,000 rupees while 38 billion rupees has been allocated for 2.6 million scholarships. The members who met with Imran Khan include Shaukat Ali, Sher Ali Arbab, Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz, Ali Nawaz Awan, Sheikh Rashid Shafique, Mansoor Hayat Khan, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Dullah, Ms. Kanwal Shauzab, Ms. Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak, Ms. Naureen Farooq Ibrahim and Ms. Shaheen Naz Saifullah. Meanwhile Leader of the House in Senate Dr Shahzad Waseem, former MNA Chaudhry Ashfaq, Haji Muhammad Younus Ansari and CEO Chen One Mian Kashif Ashfaq.
