Govt should listen to the message of shutter down strike, don’t push the country towards disorder & anarchy: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, Aug 27 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch has said that the government should listen to the message of the shutter down strike and not push the country towards the disorder and anarchy. He said the general shutter down strike will be the decisive starting point for decisions on the next steps.

In an address and meeting with business leaders and task force leaders for shutter down strike in Rawalpindi, Lahore and Islamabad, Liaqat Baloch said that the nationwide strike on Wednesday, August 28, would force the rulers to provide relief to the poor people, shopkeepers, traders, industrialists and electricity consumers.

He said some kind of sensational tactic or state power to stop the shutter down strike will not favor the government, adding the government should listen to the message of the shutter down strike and not push the country towards riot and anarchy.

He said the people will protest peacefully, the business community will correct the mood of the government with shutter power, now it has become impossible for the common man, especially the white-clad and salaried class, to live a dignified life. He said expensive electricity, piles of taxes and the heartlessness of IPPs owners have made the lives of the people difficult. Liaqat Baloch said that the federal and provincial governments have failed to give the people a dignified life and added now there is no protector of the people’s lives and property.

He said federal, provincial governments, government coalitions are engaged in blackmailing each other and deceiving the public. He said the conspiracy of the government, the establishment and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to cancel the public meeting of PTI in Islamabad has disappointed the political workers and it has also become clear to the entire nation that the ruling class is doing everything possible to facilitate itself but cannot come on one page to give relief to the people. He said the government should make the national institution profitable on commercial basis instead of closing utility stores and economic killing of employees.

Liaqat Baloch said that the incidents of terrorism in Balochistan are a shock for the entire nation. The government’s writ is practically has ended, why the army, civil administration, security forces and intelligence agencies are failing to eliminate the last terrorist. Someone should accept this failure.
