Govt should give relief to people, we have no desire to stage sit-ins: Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman

ISLAMABAD, July 26, (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that the government should give relief to the people and Jamaat-e-Islami has no desire to stage sit-ins. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami would stage a dharna until the government agrees to our demands. The second phase of the sit-in Plan B against high electricity prices, IPPs and inflation and taxes has started in Islamabad where Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has directed the workers to reach Murree Road.

While addressing Hafiz Naeem said, “There is only one demand from the government to give relief to the people, our next stop is Murree Road, I will tell the next plan of action there. You have come here for a great purpose and that great purpose is that this system of oppression has been imposed on us for 77 years, each of its operators has oppressed the people more, they throw electric bombs, IPPs have been imposed and thousands of billions of Pakistan’s rupees are looted together every year.”

He said, “We all have not come here for our own sake but to give justice to 25 crore people of Pakistan. You have completed a political journey of years in two days and now the whole of Pakistan is looking at you. I am warning the government that we are peaceful people and our workers should be released. On one hand you drop electric bombs on us, impose IPP mafia on us and when we raise our voice, you demonstrate the fascism, the people’s trust in Jamaat-e-Islami is increasing and the flood is not going to stop now.”

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman instructed the workers not to fight with the police. They are on duties so you should not fight with them and “I ask the policemen and their officers not to obstruct our way, we believe in peaceful political resistance.”
