Govt pressure on police, law enforcing institutions will destroy the system: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, Nov 08 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami and former parliamentary leader Liaqat Baloch on Tuesday said that the government pressure on police and law enforcing institutions will destroy the system.
During the meeting with Emir JI Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Khalid Mahmood Khan, Secretary General Tanvir Anwar Khan and former emir and ex-member of legislative assembly Abdul Rashid Turabi, Liaqat Baloch said that due to differences between government of Punjab and federal government on the Wazirabad incident, the first information report (FIR) could not be filed that is why the Supreme Court of Pakistan had to issue an order in this regard and added the political governments were unmasking them by proving them incompetent. He said that the government pressure on police and law enforcing agencies will wipe out the whole system. People can be given justice only when the judiciary is independent; there is supremacy of law and investigation institutions follow the law and work in the independent environment, he said, adding that now the courts were stressing the fact that the country was not being governed by law but by perverted elite. Powerful state institutions and incapable political democratic rulers were responsible for this alarming situation, he added.
People of Occupied Kashmir were continuously sacrificing their lives for freedom, Liaqat Baloch said, adding fascist India inflicting countless cruelties upon the Kashmiri people. Each and every wrong course was being adopted to mould results of so-called elections, he said. He added the Pakistani leadership was busy in internal war with one another and there is no sympathizer of Kashmiri people.
Dr. Khalid Mahmood Khan said that Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir will enthusiastically participate in local bodies’ polls and added base camp of freedom i.e., Azad Kashmir will be further made active and organized for freedom and struggle to self-determination. No action was acceptable in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan which nourishes nefarious designs of fascist India, he said, and added that Kashmiri countless sacrifices will not be allowed to waste.
Liaqat Baloch assured the Kashmiri leaders that Jamaat-e-Islami will not allow to put the Kashmir dispute into the cold storage and rulers cowardice and culpable negligence on this issue will be resisted as right to self-determination was only solution to Kashmir dispute. He stressed upon the international community to stop culpable negligence and assist in ending trampling human rights in Indian Occupied Kashmir as key to world peace lies within solution of Kashmir and Palestine disputes.
