Govt & Jamaat-e-Islami will continue talks on various matters tomorrow
RAWALPINDI, July 28 (SABAH): The government and the Jamaat-e-Islami teams have agreed to hold another session of dialogue to sort-out issues regarding the electricity bills and other matters.
Talking to media, after first session of talks in Rawalpindi this evening, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said a technical committee of the government, comprising Minister for Water and Power, Secretary Energy and representatives from the Federal Board of Revenue and the Ministry of Finance, will sit with Jamat-e-Islami team tomorrow to further discuss the matter.
Attaullah Tarar further said that release of all thirty five arrested workers of Jamat-e-Islami has already been ordered.
He expressed confidence that issue will be sorted out amicably and protesters will disperse honorably and in a dignified manner as a result of dialogue with Jamat-e-Islami leadership.
Attaullah Tarar mentioned that the government is already giving a subsidy worth fifty billion rupees to electricity consumers using up to two hundred units.
Separately talking to the media, Jamat-e-Islami leader Liaqat Baloch said they discussed all the issues with government side and next session of talks will be held tomorrow.
He said government has assured to put our demands before a technical committee.
