Govt introducing virtual gas pipe line system of LNG to overcome energy shortage in the country: Hammad Azhar
ISLAMABAD, Nov 21 (SABAH): Minister for Energy Barrister Muhammad Hammad Azhar says the government is introducing virtual gas pipe line system of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to overcome energy shortage in the country.
Talking to a private news channel, Hammad Azhar said the provision of gas to domestic consumers during the winter season is the first priority of the government. He said the government will receive two extra Liquefied Natural Gas cargoes next month to fulfill the requirement of the gas in the country.
The Minister said the consumption of gas increases three per cent in every winter season and the government is making all-out efforts to meet the domestic demand of gas.
Hammad Azhar said the past regimes had set up expensive power plants in the country unnecessarily, which was the major cause of increasing the prices of electricity in the country.
