Govt forms JIT to uncover truth behind malicious campaign against SC judges
ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (SABAH): The Government has constituted a Joint Investigation Team to ascertain facts behind malicious social media campaign attempting to malign the image of judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
According to the terms of reference of the committee, the JIT will identify and bring the culprits to book in accordance with relevant laws and cause presentation of challans in the concerned courts.
The committee will recommend measures for prevention against occurrence of such inducements in future. The JIT shall submit a preliminary report to the Interior Ministry within a fortnight.
Additional Director General Cyber Crime Wing of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will be the convener of the committee, whereas there will be a member each from the Intelligence Bureau, the Inter-Services Intelligence, Islamabad Police and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority not below BS 20. According to the notification issued by the Interior Ministry, FIA Headquarters shall provide secretariat support to the JIT.
