Govt committed to the complete eradication of human trafficking from the country: PM Shehbaz
ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed to arrest all individuals involved in the heinous business of human trafficking within a week and legal action be taken against them.
Chairing a review meeting curbing human trafficking in Islamabad on Friday, PM Shehbaz Sharif instructed to make the prosecution process against human traffickers more effective.
The Prime Minister questioned why no disciplinary action has been taken so far against government officials facilitating human trafficking.
He directed that visa checks and other regulations for all individuals traveling abroad be made more effective.
He said the government is committed to the complete eradication of human trafficking from the country.
PM Shehbaz Sharif also instructed to constitute a committee under the leadership of the Interior Minister to find sustainable solutions for eradicating human trafficking.
The Prime Minister was briefed on the measures taken against human trafficking in the country.
He was also briefed on the identification of Pakistanis and the progress of repatriating their bodies from the incident involving a migrant boat near Greece in December 2024.
