Govt allies are ready to play on both sides of wicket: Liaqat Baloch

Says politics of alliances is made unsuccessful by selfishness, blackmailing & weaknesses of partners

Says target killing of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Sufi Muhammad Hameed in Bajaur is a big tragedy

LAHORE, Nov 15 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has said the government allies are ready to play on both sides of the wicket and the PML-N and the People’s Party are two sides of the same coin.

Liaqat Baloch while addressing the political consultative meeting said that the politics of alliances is suffering from failures, adding the politics of alliances is made unsuccessful by selfishness, blackmailing and weaknesses of partners. The Muslim League-Nawaz and the People’s Party are two sides of the same coin and on the political wicket they continue to have a friendly rivalry, he noted.

In the current situation, the handlers of both can remove the failing group from the scene and impose the other on the nation, so government allies are ready to play on both sides of the wicket, he revealed. What the country need is not coalition politics, political parties and leadership need to agree on national priorities, he stressed.

Liaqat Baloch termed the target killing of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Sufi Muhammad Hameed in Bajaur as a big tragedy and said that threats are being given to Jamaat-e-Islami and Ulemas along with the target killing of leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. The people and leadership of Bajaur are being punished for their love for Islam and Pakistan, he added.

The martyrdoms of security forces officers and soldiers are also a national tragedy and a shock, he said and added it is inevitable to correct and resolve the failures of the National Action Plan to end terrorism. The decisions of the national consensus were thwarted by the act of likes and dislikes and the network of terrorism became active, he deplored. Islam, Quran and Sunnah are the unity and strength of the people of Pakistan, he noted.

Liaqat Baloch said that the government’s unwise measures under the worst conditions and pressure of the IMF have destroyed every sector of life including agriculture, industry and trade, adding the government has caused irreparable damage to agriculture by ending the support price of wheat. The government decisions made under IMF intervention and pressure have caused irreparable damage to agriculture and broken the back of farmers, he added.
