Ghulam Muhammad Bulla sacrificed his youth for liberation of Kashmir: Farooq Rehmani

ISLAMABAD, Feb 14 (SABAH): On 48th martyrdom anniversary of Ghulam Muhammad Bulla, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has paid rich tributes to Ghulam Muhammad Bulla, a young political worker of Sopore Kashmir, who was tortured to death in the Central Jail Srinagar during a fateful night of 15 February, 1975, and buried by the police in Sopore, without informing anybody to hide the crime they had committed behind the fortified walls of the Srinagar prison.

Farooq Rehmani says,” his only “sin” was that he had participated in a strong anti-Indra-Abdullah Accord , which rejected the movement of freedom and plebiscite for the State by again bringing to power Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, who led the freedom movement by remaining in jail for over a decade. The Delhi Accord of 1975 further paved way for eroding important political and constitutional guarantees to the State, as promised in 1947. The said Accord shacked the entire disputed region (IIOJ&K), and people came out of their homes from every part of the Occupied State  with a cyclone of political turmoil and police violence and tit- for- tat public reaction; the murder and martyrdom of Ghulam Muhammad Bulla added fuel to fire, making the Indian establishment nervous everywhere. Today, when we remember those times of brutalities and martyrdom of a young patriot of Kashmir, the people get more excited and inspired never to surrender their tights before the modern racist Hindu State, but to make a pledge to take the mission of our martyrs to its logical end. May Allah shower His blessings on Bulla shaheed and all other Shuhda-e-Kashmir.

Farooq Rehmani referred to the latest racist upheaval in Delhi, that aimed at transforming the Muslim majority State into a Hindu majority to impose and implement the RSS colonial settler-policy for Kashmir. He said that the present unlawful and ruthless campaign against the properties of people– land and houses or other structures for that matter by   the BJP led establishment in the name of clearing encroachments was actually to make the Muslim majority homeless and then declare them outsiders or userpers. The BJP government, he said would like to rouse Hindu emotions under this cover to win the coming elections in India. So called encroachment drive is the 2nd phase of BJP for demographic changes in Kashmir.

He said that the All Parties Hurriyat Conference had given a call of shut down on 15th to support the demand of the people for safeguarding their fundamental property rights against the Hindutva created mayhem and cons piracy in Kashmir. At the same time Pakistan should inform the UN about the developments in IIOJ&K and Indian Hindutva regime must be prevented from depriving the Kashmiri Muslims of their historical status and fundamental rights including the right to property and right to be bona-fide citizens of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
