Germany needs to play its role for resolution of Kashmir dispute: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE, April 30 (SABAH): Ambassador of Germany in Pakistan Alfred Grannas called on Jamaat-e-Islami leadership particularly Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq at Mansoora on Sunday. Kashmir dispute, domestic and foreign issues came under discussion during the meeting.

First Secretary of German Embassy Christian Bachar, Deputy Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Muhammad Asghar, Secretary Information Qaiser Sharif and Foreign Affairs Department Naib Nazim Abdul Quddus were also present on the occasion.

Sirajul Haq apprised the German diplomat about the latest situation in the Indian occupied Kashmir, telling him solution to the Kashmir issue according to the wishes of the people of the area was the only key to establish peace in the region. He said that Germany should play its role to stop human rights violation in the occupied area.

He briefed the German diplomat that Russia-Ukraine war will not prove beneficial for anyone but it will further exacerbate the situation while damaging humanity. He stressed upon the international community to play its role for the establishment of peace in the world. He also lauded Germany for conferring scholarships to Pakistani students as well as providing them facilities and stressed upon the need of cementing further the existing ties between the two countries in the fields of economy, science and business.

German diplomat lauded the role played by Sirajul Haq in eradicating out ongoing anarchy in the country and stressed upon the need of cementing further the already existing ties between both the countries. He told the ambassador that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue to play its role for stability of democracy, supremacy of law and constitution and safeguarding the human rights. “We have initiated efforts to bring all the political parties on the same page. It is responsibility of political parties to provide suitable and peaceful environment for holding of free, fair and transparent elections in the country,” he remarked. 

Meanwhile, while addressing Islamic Lawyers Movement at Mansoorah, Sirajul Haq said that lawyers have always played an important role for supremacy of law and Constitution as well as independence of judiciary in Pakistan. At present, he said the country was facing constitutional, political and financial crisis which is why Jamaat-e-Islami wanted that the lawyers’ organisations should play their part in the delivery of justice equally to the weak as well as the powerful segments of the society.

He further said that law of land is different for the underprivileged and privileged segments of the society and deplored that doors of courts were being opened through the keys made up of gold. The country can develop only when justice will prevail which is possible only in an Islamic System, he noted. He said the Jamaat-e-Islami was striving for the enforcement of Islamic System in the country and appealed to the legal fraternity to support Jamaat-e-Islami in this sacred cause.
