Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed was the architect & mastermind of 190 million pound corruption case, Faisal Vawda claims

ISLAMABAD, May 24 (SABAH): Former federal minister for water resources Muhammad Faisal Vawda has said that ex-spymaster DG ISI Lieutenant Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed was the architect and mastermind of 190 million pound corruption case which is being faced by former prime minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.

Talking to media persons after appearing before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) here in Islamabad on Wednesday, Muhammad Faisal Vawda said, “My compulsion today is to tell the nation that when you say the beneficiary is Imran Khan, the biggest is Faiz Hameed. It is not a rocket science to find out corruption in 190 million pound case. I have been asked a number of questions in this regard.

He further said, “This was a very small case and that bigger crimes would be uncovered when things were further probed. I have handed over each and every thing in written form and signed on the documents.  When this issue was taken up, I was federal minister when a closed envelope was shown during the cabinet meeting. had then said that a NAB case would be registered in this regard. This envelope was not part of agenda of the meeting; however, I do not hold responsible a well-known business tycoon in this regard.”

Faisal Vawda said that in this case, the person who committed major corruption was Faiz Hameed and added till-date no-one took his name in this regard. He said that Faiz Hameed played a role in fleeing away Shahzad Akbar and some other persons and added his (Faiz) remains still present at Senate and the surrounding areas; however, now I’m talking about their assets.

Former federal minister Faisal Vawda also assailed President Dr. Arif Alvi for playing a “huge role in these misunderstandings”.

Responding to a query if the President House had a role in PTI members leaving the party, Vawda said, “What the president has done, I don’t think even an enemy could do. A huge role in these misunderstandings is of the President House and President Dr. Arif Alvi sahib.”

He further said he had warned Imran before about ‘snakes’ in his party, who he added would be holding press conferences soon, condemning the May 9 violence.
