Funeral prayer of six Pak Army personnel martyred in Spinwam area of North Waziristan offered at Peshawar Garrison

PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (SABAH): The funeral prayer of the six Pakistan Army personnel, who embraced for martyrdom during the exchange of fire with the Khawarij in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan, was offered at Peshawar Garrison on Saturday.

Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, along with senior serving Army and civil officials, and relatives of the martyrs, attended the prayer.

Following the prayers, the bodies of the martyrs were sent to their native areas, where they will be laid to rest with full military honours.

The martyrs included, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shaukat, Lance Naik Muhammad Ullah, Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman, Lance Naik Shahid Ullah, Lance Naik Yusuf Ali and Sepoy Jameel Ahmad.

The sacrifices made by these soldiers reinforce the nation’s resolve and determination in the ongoing fight against terrorism.

Meanwhile President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have appreciated security forces’ successful operation against Khawarij terrorists in North Waziristan.

In a statement, President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the brave soldiers including Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat for sacrificing their lives while fighting terrorists.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his statement, paid tribute to Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat and five other soldiers on embracing martyrdom while valiantly fighting the terrorists.

The Prime Minister prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks in Jannah and expressed condolences with their families.

He said Pakistan Army has rendered unparalleled sacrifices in the war against terrorism. The Prime Minister said entire nation pays tribute to the martyrs.
