Funeral prayer of founder emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Gilgit-Baltistan Maulana Abdul Mannan offered; laid to rest

ISLAMABAD, Sep 24 (SABAH): Maulana Abdul Mannan, the founder of Gilgit-Baltistan Freedom Movement and founder of Jamaat-e-Islami Gilgit-Baltistan was laid to rest. He passed away on Monday in Islamabad. The funeral prayer was offered at Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir center in Khanna.

Former Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq, former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, former Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Mir Alam, Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, former Emirs of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Abdul Rashid Turabi, Dr. Khalid Mehmood Khan, Sardar Ejaz Afzal Khan, All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir and Pakistan Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Mushtaq Advocate, Shafqat Khan, Aftab Alam Advocate and Altaf Butt also participated.

The funeral prayer was attended by thousands of people from Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan. According to the information secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir, Maulana Abdul Mannan has rendered immense services as the founding Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Gilgit-Baltistan, along with achieving the constitutional and political rights of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as giving the entire nation the obligation of religious observance. He rendered significant services for communal harmony in Gilgit-Baltistan.
