Freedom of nations could not be crushed through arms: Syed Salahuddin


MUZAFFARABAD, Feb 22 (SABAH): Hizbul Mujahideen Chief and the United Jihad Council (UJC) Chairman Syed Salahuddin Ahmed on Wednesday said that martyr Bashir Ahmed aka Imtiaz Aalam was a courageous and valiant leader who made sacrifices for freedom of occupied valley and enforcement of Islam till the last moment of his life.

Syed Salahuddin Ahmed expressed these views while separately addressing the meetings of United Jihad Council and Hizb Command Council on Wednesday.

He further said that freedom of nations could not be crushed through arms; however, it can be slowed down only for some time. He said it was the lesson of the history and if lesson was not taught by India then it would become difficult for it to maintain its own existence.

Syed Salahuddin said that Imtiaz Aalam was highly educated person and he joined Hizbul Mujahideen in 1990 while putting aside worldly benefits. He played an important role in strengthening the rows of warriors and took part in their mental and intellectual training due to which unarmed warriors were putting Indian forces in intense difficulties. He further said the martyr Imtiaz Aalam got injured during skirmishes in 1990 and was arrested in the same condition.

It is worth mentioning here that dozens of army men were killed and more than twenty individuals of Indian army were arrested while they were injured. After staying for two years in the jail, Imtiaz Aalam was released from the jail but he soon rejoined the practical field. To remain him away from the freedom movement, Indian forced killed his father and brother and set his home on fire but he continued making sacrifices for freedom of Kashmir.

The meeting prayed higher status in heaven for the departed soul of martyr Imtiaz Alam and courage for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. The meeting also reiterated the resolve that the every possible role will be played for moving forward his mission.
