Food packages under Alkhidmat FoundationPakistan distributed among 200 porters at Lahore Railways Station
LAHORE, April 19 (SABAH): Under Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, food packages among 200 porters were distributed at Lahore Railway Station. While remaining stick to its traditions of the previous years, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan was dispensing food packages during Ramazan among the poor and needy individuals across the country.
Talking on this occasion, Vice President of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, Syed Ihsanullah Waqas stated that rapid surge in inflation has impacted all segments of the society, especially labour class. He added while keeping in view this situation, the organization has distributed rations among 1000 porters till this day including those of flood-hit areas of the country.
In the past when trains were not running and they had no jobs, he stated that Alkhidmat had distributed rations among them too. Sharing details with the participants, he stated that ration hubs have been established across the country where Alkhidmat Foundation’s local teams conducts surveys and after proper examination issue tokens among the deserving families, adding through this method a family receives rations for itself. He added this ration package comprises wheat flour, rice, oil, sugar, tea, palms, pulses and other edibles, saying this routine has been continuing since the commencement of the holy month of Ramazan.
Syed Ihsanullah Waqas furthered that inflation has badly affected the poor and needy segments of the society and motif behind division of Alkhidmat Foundation’s food packages was to ensure their participation in the happy moments of forthcoming eid while reducing their load so that they could observe fasting smoothly. He said that Alkhidmat Foundation organizes sehr-o-aftaar [dawn and evening meals] during the month of Ramazan besides setting up sasta tandoor during the month where the people were provided with bread at half price.
