FM Qureshi says Pakistan desires to have cordial relations with all the other countries without becoming part of any camp


ISLAMABAD, Feb 11 (SABAH): Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Pakistan, as a member of International Labour Organization (ILO) will continue to support important global priorities like combating social and economic inequality.

He was talking to South Korea’s candidate for Director General, International Labor Organization Kang Kyung-wha who called on the Foreign Minister in Islamabad on Friday.

The Foreign Minister said the COVID-19 pandemic adversely affected the employees, workers and employers globally and now a fair developmental financing and vaccine equity will help revive the global economy.

He expressed the hope that as an experienced female candidate from Asia Pacific region, Kang Kyung-wha will be a strong and impressive candidate for ILO leadership.                   

Kang Kyung-wha thanked Shah Mahmood Qureshi for his words of appreciation.

Meanwhile Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said Pakistan desires to have cordial relations with all the other countries without becoming part of any camp.

Addressing the ninth Orange Festival in Taxila on Friday, he said our relations with China have further strengthened. We also want to have good relations with the US. He said Pakistan-Russia relations are also witnessing a new direction.

The Foreign Minister regretted that the Hindutva mindset of the Indian regime poses a serious threat to the regional peace and security. He said the people within India are also now raising voice against the flawed policies and extremist mindset of Modi government.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan wants to promote trade and economic relations with the Central Asian States via Afghan route.
