Flood victims left stranded since last three months while ruling parties busy in infighting to stick to resources: Sirajul Haq
UPPER DIR, Sep 14 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that the flood victims have been left helpless since last three months while ruling parties were still busy in infighting to stick to resources instead of sorting out issues faced by them.
Sirajul Haq expressed these views while talking to victims and local media persons on the occasion of his visit of Kalkot area of Upper Dir on Wednesday.
While lambasting the ongoing political turmoil the country is faced with, Sirajul Haq said the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were found to be hell bent upon keeping on tug of war for the sake of just staying stick to remain in power.
He said that winter season is in the offing in northern areas, Malakand Division and other vicinities so the federal and provincial governments need to think sensible while taking practical measures otherwise the crisis will further exacerbate in absence of provision of shelter to the people affected from the heavy downpours and catastrophic floods.
Talking about current state of affairs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said here the PTI has been in power since last 10 years where “so-called change” had proved to be detrimental to all spheres of life.
“Sindh has been under the rule of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) since last 14 years while in Punjab, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has been enjoying the power since 1985 whereas these are the parties ruling Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Rulers need to reveal their achievement before the nation during such a protracted period,” he questioned.
Moreover, the Emir Jamaat-e-Islami said that deceiving the masses has been a routine matter for these rulers whereas people from across the world witnessed the way Jamaat-e-Islami and Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan served the flood-stricken masses.
“We are thankful to the masses for expressing their confidence in us. If God confer an opportunity to Jamaat-e-Islami to serve the country, it will bring revolutionary reforms in all circles of life. Jamaat is working to enforce Islamic sharia in the country,” Sirajul Haq concluded.
