First humanitarian assistance flight from France arrives in Islamabad


ISLAMABAD, Sep 03 (SABAH): First humanitarian assistance flight from France has arrived in Islamabad on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, it was received at Islamabad International Airport by Minister of Health Abdul Qadir Patel along with representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs & National Disaster Management Authority.

The aircraft was carrying relief material including high-capacity water pumps, tents and survival & hygiene equipment. The relief assistance from France is welcomed with warmth and gratitude.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, Abdul Qadir Patel expressed his gratitude to the French government for standing by Pakistan and extending support to it in this difficult hour.

Abdul Qadir Patel said that the relief goods sent by France also include medicines and big dewatering pumps. He said France has also sent a team of doctors and experts. The Minister said Pakistan values French assistance for flood victims.

Abdul Qadar Patel said the federal government in coordination with provincial governments is working tirelessly for relief and rehabilitation of affected population.

He said we are using all available resources for the provision of medical facility to the flood victims.
